Hear this word that I take up as a lament over you , house of Israel .
ए इस्राएलको घराना , तिमीहरूका विषयमा मेरो यो विलापको वचन सुन ।

कुमारी इस्राएल पतन भएकी छ , त्यो फेरि उठ्‍नेछैन , त्यो आफ्नै भूमिमा त्यागिएकी छ , त्यसलाई उठाउने त्यहाँ कोही छैन ।

परमप्रभुको खोजी गर र जीवित रहो , नत्रता उहाँ योसेफको घरानामा आगोझैं दन्‍कनुहुनेछ । त्यसले भस्म पार्नेछ र बेथेलमा त्यसलाई निभाउने कुनै व्‍यक्‍ति हुनेछैन ।

ती मानिसहरूले इन्साफलाई एउटा तितो कुरामा परिणत गर्छन् र धार्मिकतालाई भुइँमा फालिदिन्‍छन् ! ”

परमेश्‍वरले किरकिटी र मृगशिरालाई बनाउनुभयो । उहाँले अन्धकारलाई बिहानमा परिणत गर्नुहुन्छ । उहाँले दिनलाई रातको अन्‍धकार बनाउनुहुन्छ र समुद्रको पानीलाई बोलाउनुहुन्छ । उहाँले त्यसलाई पृथ्वीको सतहमा खन्याउनुहुन्छ । उहाँको नाउँ परमप्रभु हो ।

किनभने तिमीहरूले गरिबहरूलाई कुल्चिन्‍छौ र ऊबाट गहुँको भाग लिन्‍छौ — तिमीहरूले कँदेका ढुङ्गाले घरहरू बनाएको भए तापनि , तिमीहरू त्यसमा बस्‍नेछैनौ । तिमीहरूसँग लहलहाउँदा दाखबारीहरू छन् , तर तिमीहरूले त्यसको दाखमद्य पाउनेछैनौ ।

For I know⟡ how many are your offenses and how great are your sins — you who afflict the just , take bribes , and turn aside the needy in the city gate .
किनकि तिमीहरूका अपराधहरू कति छन् अनि तिमीहरूका पाप कति ठुला छन् भनी म जान्‍दछु — तिमीहरू जसले धर्मीलाई कष्‍ट दिन्छौ , घूस लिन्छौ , र सहरको मूलद्वारका दरिद्रहरूको न्‍यायहरण गर्छौ

यसकारण यस्तो समयमा विवेकी मानिस पनि चूपै लाग्छ , किनभने यो खराब समय हो ।

असल कुराको खोजी गर , खराबको होइन , जसले गर्दा तिमीहरू बाँच्‍नेछौ । यसरी तिमीहरूले भनेझैं , परमप्रभु , सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्‍वर , साँच्‍चै नै तिमीहरूसँग हुनुहुनेछ ।

Hate evil , love good , establish justice in the city gate . Perhaps Yahweh , the God of hosts , will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph .
दुष्‍टतालाई घृणा गर , असल कुरालाई प्रेम गर , सहरको मूलद्वारमा न्याय कायम गर । सायद परमप्रभु , सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्‍वर योसेफका बाँकी रहेकाहरूसँग अनुग्रही हुनुहुनेछ ।

Therefore , this is what Yahweh says , the God of hosts , the Lord , " Wailing will be in all the squares , and they will say in all the streets , ' Woe ! Woe ! ' They will call the farmers to mourning and the mourners to wail .
यसकारण , परमप्रभु , सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्‍वर यस्तो भन्‍नुहुन्छ , “ सबै चोकहरूमा रुवाबासी हुनेछ , र तिनीहरूले सबै सडकहरूमा यस्तो भन्‍नेछन् , ‘ धिक्‍कार ! धिक्‍कार ! ’ तिनीहरूले किसानहरूलाई विलाप गर्न र मलामीहरूलाई शोक गर्न बोलाउनेछन् ।

जसरी कोही मानिस एउटा सिंहबाट भाग्‍छ र एउटा भालुले उसलाई भेटाउँछ , अर्थात् ऊ कुनै घरभित्र जान्‍छ र आफ्नो हात भित्तामा राख्‍छ अनि एउटा सर्पले उसलाई डस्‍छ ।
