This is what the Lord Yahweh showed me . Look , a basket of summer fruit !
परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वरले मलाई यो कुरा देखाउनुभयो । ग्रीष्‍म ऋतुको फलको एउटा डालो हेर ।

He said , " What do you see , Amos ? " I said , " A basket of summer fruit . " Then Yahweh said to me , " The end has come for my people Israel ; I will spare them no longer .
उहाँले भन्‍नुभयो , “ आमोस , तँ के देख्‍छस् ? ” मैले भनें , “ ग्रीष्‍म ऋतुको फलको एउटा डालो । ” तब परमप्रभुले मलाई यसो भन्‍नुभयो , “ मेरा मानिस , इस्राएलको निम्ति अन्‍त्‍य आएको छ । म तिनीहरूलाई अब बाँकी छोड्नेछैनँ ।

खाँचोमा परेकाहरूलाई थिचोमिचो गर्नेहरू , र गरीबहरूलाई देशबाट हटाउनेहरू , यो सुन ।

तिनीहरू भन्छन् , “ औंसी कहिले समाप्‍त हुन्छ , ताकि हामीहरूले फेरि अन्‍न बेच्‍न सकौं ? शबाथ दिन कहिले समाप्‍त हुन्छ , ताकि हामीले गहुँ बेच्‍न सकौं ? हामीले झुटो नापले ठगी गर्दा , हामी मानालाई सानो बनाउनेछौं र मुल्यलाई बढाउनेछौं ।

तिमीहरूका चाडहरूलाई विलापमा , अनि तिमीहरूका सबै गीतलाई रुवाईमा म बद्लिनेछु । तिमीहरू सबैलाई भाङ्‍ग्रा लाउने , र हरेकले कपाल खौरन म बनाउनेछु । एक मात्र छोराको निम्ति विलाप गरेझैं , र त्यसको अन्‍त्‍यमा तीतो म बनाउनेछु ।

Look , the days are coming — this is the declaration of the Lord Yahweh — when I will send a famine in the land , not a famine for bread , nor of thirst⟡ for water , but for hearing the words of Yahweh .
हेर् , यस्‍ता दिनहरू आउँदैछन् , यो परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वरको घोषणा हो , जति बेला देशमा म अनिकाल पठाउनेछु , त्‍यो रोटीको अनिकाल होइन , न त पानीको तिर्खाको हो , तर त्‍यो परमप्रभुको वचन सुन्‍ने कुराको हो ।
