अब तिनीहरू झन् धेरै पाप गर्छन् । आफ्ना चाँदीलाई ढालेर तिनीहरू मूर्तिहरू बनाउँछन् , सकेसम्‍म राम्रो सिपले ती मूर्तिहरू बनाउँछन् , र ती सबै शिल्पकारका काम हुन् । मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूका बारेमा भन्छन् , ‘ बलिदान चढाउने यी मानिसहरूले बाछाहरूलाई चुम्बन गर्छन् । ’

के म तिनीहरूलाई चिहानको शक्तिदेखि बचाउनेछु र ? के म तिनीहरूलाई मृत्‍युबाट बचाउनेछु र ? ए मृत्‍यु , तेरा विपत्तिहरू कहाँ छन् ? ए चिहान , तेरो विनाश कहाँ छ ? मेरा आँखाबाट दया लुकेको छ । ”

Though Ephraim is prosperous among his brothers , an east wind will come ; the wind of Yahweh will blow in from the wilderness . Ephraim 's spring will dry up , and his well will have no water . His enemy will plunder his storehouse of every precious object .
