When all the people crossed over the Jordan , Yahweh said to Joshua ,
जब सबै मानिस यर्दन तरे , परमप्रभुले यहोशूलाई भन्‍नुभयो ,

" Choose twelve men for yourselves from among the people , one man from each tribe .
" मानिसहरूबाट एक जना अर्थात् हरेक कुलबाट एक - एक जना गरी बाह्र जना मानिस छान् ।

Give them this command : ' Take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan where the priests are standing on the dry ground , and bring them over with you and lay them down in the place where you will spend the night tonight . ' "
तिनीहरूलाई यस्तो आज्ञा दे , " यर्दन नदीको बिचबाट बाह्रवटा ढुङ्गा लेओ जहाँ पुजारीहरू सुक्खा जमिनमा उभिरहेका हुन्छन् , तिनीहरूलाई तिमीहरूसँगै लेओ र तिनीहरूलाई आज रात बिताउने ठाउँमा राख ' । "

Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had chosen from the tribes of Israel , one from each tribe .
त्यसपछि यहोशूले बाह्र जना मानिसलाई बोलाए जसलाई तिनले इस्राएलका कुलहरूबाट अर्थात् हरेक कुलबाट एक - एक जना चुनेका थिए ।

यहोशूले करारको सन्दुक बोक्‍ने पुजारीहरूको खुट्टाले टेकेका ठाउँ अर्थात् यर्दनको बिचबाट ल्याएका बाह्रवटा ढुङ्गा खडा गरे । त्यो स्मारक आज पनि त्यहीँ छ ।

The priests that carried the ark stood in the middle of the Jordan until everything that Yahweh commanded Joshua to tell the people was completed , according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua . The people hurried and they crossed over .
मोशाले यहोशूलाई आदेश दिएबमोजिम परमप्रभुले मानिसहरूलाई बताउनू भनी आज्ञा गर्नुभएका सबै कुरा पुरा नभएसम्म सन्दुक बोक्‍ने पुजारीहरू यर्दनको बिचमा नै खडा भए । मानिसहरू छिटो - छिटो गरी तरे ।

When all the people had finished crossing over , the ark of Yahweh and the priests crossed over before the people .
जब सबै मानिस तरी सके परमप्रभुको सन्दुक र पुजारीहरू मानिसहरूको अगिअगि तरे ।

The tribe of Reuben , the tribe of Gad , and the half tribe of Manasseh passed before the people of Israel formed up as an army , just as Moses said to them .
रूबेनको कुल , गादको कुल र मनश्शेको आधा कुल मोशाले तिनीहरूलाई आज्ञा गरेअनुसार एउटा फौजको रूपमा इस्राएलका मानिसहरूका अगिअगि गए ।

About forty thousand men equipped for war passed before Yahweh , for battle on the plains of Jericho .
झण्डै चालिस हजार सशस्‍त्र मानिस परमप्रभुको सामु यरीहोको मैदानमा युद्धको निम्ति गए ।

On that day Yahweh made Joshua great in the eyes of all Israel . They honored him — just as they honored Moses — all his days .
त्यस दिन परमप्रभुले यहोशूलाई सबै इस्राएलको दृष्‍टिमा महान् बनाउनुभयो । तिनीहरूले मोशालाई आदर गरेझैँ तिनको सारा जीवनभरि तिनलाई पनि आदर गरे ।

परमप्रभु यहोशूसँग बोल्नुभयो ,
