When Samuel was old , he made his sons judges over Israel .
जब शमूएल वृद्ध भए , तिनले आफ्ना दुई छोरालाई इस्राएलका न्यायकर्ताहरू बनाए ।

The name of his firstborn was Joel , and the name of his second son was Abijah . They were judges in Beersheba .

उनीहरूले तिनलाई भने , " हेर्नुहोस् , तपाईं वृद्ध हुनुभयो , र तपाईंका छोराहरू तपाईंका मर्गहरूमा हिंड्दैनन् । सबै जातिझैं हाम्रो न्याय गर्न हाम्रा निम्ति एक जना राजा नियुक्‍त गर्नुहोस् । "

But it displeased Samuel when they said , " Give us a king to judge us . " So Samuel prayed to Yahweh .
तर त्‍यसले शमूएललाई दुःख लाग्‍यो , जब तिनीहरूले भने , " हाम्रो न्याय गर्न हामीलाई एक जना राजा दिनुहोस् । " त्यसैले शमूएलले परमप्रभुसँग प्रार्थना गरे ।

Yahweh said to Samuel , " Obey the voice of the people in everything they say to you ; for they have not rejected you , but they have rejected me from being king over them .
परमप्रभुले शमूएललाई भन्‍नुभयो , " मानिसहरूले तँलाई भनेका तिनीहरूका सबै कुरा पालन गर् । किनकि तिनीहरूले तँलाई इन्कार गरेका होइनन् , तर तिनीहरूमाथि राजा हुनबाट तिनीहरूले मलाई इन्कार गरेका छन् ।

They are acting now the same as they did since the day I brought them out of Egypt , forsaking me , and serving other gods , and so they are also doing to you .
तिनीहरूले मलाई त्यागेका र अरू देवताहरूको सेवा गरेर मैले तिनीहरूलाई मिश्रबाट ल्याएदेखि गरेजस्तै तिनीहरूले गरिरहेका छन् , र त्यसैले तिनीहरूले तँलाई पनि त्यसै गर्दैछन् ।

Now listen to them ; but warn them solemnly and let them know the way the king will rule over them . "

तिनले भने , " तिमीहरूमाथि राज्‍य गर्ने राजाको प्रचलन यस्तो हुनेछ । उनले तिमीहरूका छोराहरूलाई लानेछन् र आफ्‍ना रथहरूका निम्ति र घोडचढी हुनलाई र आफ्‍ना रथहरूको अगि - अगि दौडनलाई उनले तिनीहरूलाई नियुक्‍त गर्ने छन् ।

He will appoint for himself captains of thousands and captains of fifties . He will make some plow his ground , some reap his harvest , and some make his weapons of war and the equipment for his chariots .
उनले आफ्‍नो निम्ति हजारका कप्‍तानहरू र पचासका कप्‍तानहरू नियुक्‍त गर्नेछन् । कसैलाई आफ्नो जमिन जोत्‍न , कसैलाई आफ्‍नो अन्‍न कटानी गर्न र कसैलाई आफ्नो युद्धको हतियारहरू अनि आफ्ना रथहरूको सरसामान बनाउन लगाउनेछन् ।

He will also take your daughters to be perfumers , cooks , and bakers .

But the people refused to listen to Samuel ; they said , " No ! There must be a king over us
तर मानिसहरूले शमूएलको कुरा सुन्‍न इन्कार गरे । तिनीहरूले भने , " होइन , हामीमाथि एक जना राजा हुनैपर्छ ।

Yahweh said to Samuel , " Obey their voice and cause⟡ someone to be king for them . " So Samuel said to the men of Israel , " Every man must go to his own city . "
