It came⟡ about in those days that the Philistines gathered their armies together for battle to fight with Israel . Achish said to David , " Know⟡ for certain that you will go out with me in the host , you and your men . "
ती दिनहरूमा पलिश्‍तीहरूले इस्रएलसँग युद्ध गर्न आफ्नो फौज सँगै भेला पारे । आकीशले दाऊदलाई भने , " तिमी र तिम्रा मानिसहरू मसँगै सेनामा जानेछौ भन्‍ने जानी राख । "

David said to Achish , " So you will know what your servant can do . " Achish said to David , " So I will make you my bodyguard all your days . "
दाऊदले आकीशलाई भने , " तपाईंको दासले के गर्न सक्छ भन्‍ने तपाईंले जान्‍नु हुनेछ । " आकीशले दाऊदलाई भने , " त्यसैले म तिमीलाई तिम्रो जीवनकाल भरि नै मेरो अङ्गरक्षक बनाउनेछु । "

Now Samuel had died⟡ , and all Israel had lamented him and buried him in Ramah , in his own city . Also , Saul had banned from the land those who talked with the dead or with spirits .
यति बेला शमूएल मरिसकेका थिए , र सारा इस्राएलले तिनको निम्ति विलाप गरेका र तिनलाई आफ्नै सहर रामामा दफन गरेका थिए । शाऊलले मृतक र आत्माहरूसँग कुरा गर्नेहरूलाई देशमा निषेध गरेका थिए ।

Then the Philistines gathered themselves together and came and camped at Shunem ; and Saul gathered all Israel together , and they camped at Gilboa .
तब पलिश्‍तीहरू आफूलाई एकसाथ भेला पारे र शूनेममा आएर छाउनी हाले । अनि शाऊलले सबै इस्राएललाई एकसाथ भेला पारे र तिनीहरूले गिल्बोमा छाउनी हाले ।

When Saul saw the army of the Philistines , he was afraid , and his heart trembled very much .
जब शाऊलले पलिश्‍तीहरूको फौज देखे , तब तिनी डराए र तिनको हृदय अति नै डरायो ।

Saul prayed to Yahweh for help , but Yahweh did not answer him — neither by dreams , nor by Urim , nor by prophets .
शाऊलले परमप्रभुसँग प्रार्थना गरे तर परमप्रभुले न सपनामा , न त ऊरीममा , न त अगमवक्ताहरूद्वारा नै कुनै जवाफ दिनुभयो ।

Then Saul said to his servants , " Find⟡ me a woman who talks with the dead⟡ , so that I may go to her and seek her advice . " His servants said to him , " See , there is a woman in Endor who claims to talk with the dead⟡ . "
तब शाऊलले आफ्नो सेवकहरूलाई भने , " मृतकसँग कुरा गर्ने एक जना स्‍त्री मेरो निम्ति खोजेर ल्‍याओ , ताकि त्यसकहाँ म जान र त्यसको सल्लाह खोज्‍न सकूँ । " तिनका सेवकहरूले तिनलाई भने , " हे्र्नुहोस् , मृतकसँग कुरा गर्न सक्‍ने दाबी गर्ने एक जना स्‍त्री एन्दोरमा छिन् । "

Saul disguised himself , put on other clothing , and went , he and two men with him ; they went to the woman by night . He said , " Divine for me , I beg you , with a spirit , and bring me up whomever I name to you . "
शाऊलले आफू भेष बदले र अर्कै पोशाक लगाएर , तिनी र तिनीसँग भएका दुई जना मानिसहरू गए । तिनीहरू त्यो स्‍त्री कहाँ राती गए । तिनले भने , " म बिन्ती गर्छु मेरो निम्ति आत्मासँग कुरा गरि देऊ र मैले जसको नाउँ भन्‍छु त्यो मलाई ल्याइदेऊ । "

The woman said to him , " See , you know what Saul has done , how he has banned from the land those who talk with the dead⟡ or with spirits . So why are you setting a trap for my life , to make me die ? "
स्‍त्रीले तिनलाई भनिन् , " हेर्नुहोस् , शाऊलले के गर्नुभएको छ सो तपाईंहरूलाई थाहा छ , उनले मृतक वा आत्माहरूसँग कुरा गर्नेहरूलाई कसरी देशबाट निष्काषण गर्नुभएको छ । त्यसैले मलाई मर्नलाई किन मेरो जीवनलाई जालमा फसाउँदै हुनुहुन्छ ? "

Saul swore to her by Yahweh and said , " As Yahweh lives , no punishment will happen to you for this thing . "
शाऊलले परमप्रभुको नाउँमा शपथ खाए र भने , " जस्‍तो परमप्रभु जीवित हुनुहुन्छ , तिमीलाई यो कुराको निम्ति कुनै दण्ड हुनेछैन । "

Then the woman said , " Whom should I bring up to you ? " Saul said , " Bring up Samuel for me . "
तब ती स्‍त्रीले भनिन् , " म तपाईंको निम्ति कसलाई ल्याउँ ? " शाऊलले भने , " मेरो निम्ति शमूएललाई ल्याइदेऊ । "

When the woman saw Samuel , she cried with a loud voice and spoke to Saul , saying , " Why have you deceived me ? For you are Saul . "
जब ती स्‍त्रीले शमूएल देखिन् , तब तिनले ठुलो सोरले चिच्याइन् र भनिन् , " तपाईंले मलाई किन छल गर्नुभयो ? किनकि तपाईं नै शाऊल हुनुहुन्छ । "

The king said to her , " Do not be afraid . What do you see ? " The woman said to Saul , " I see a god coming up out of the earth . "
राजाले उनलाई भने , " नडराऊ । तिमीले के देख्छौ ? " ती स्‍त्रीले शाऊललाई भनिन् , " पृथ्वीबाट एउटा देवता आइरहेको म देख्छु । "

He said to her , " What does he look like ? " She said , " An old man is coming up ; he is clothed with a robe . " Saul perceived that it was Samuel , and he bowed with his face to the ground and showed respect .
तिनले उनलाई भने , " त्‍यो कस्तो छ ? " उनले भनिन् , " एउटा वृद्ध मानिस माथि आइरहेका छन् । यिनले खा्सटो ओढेका छन् । " यिनी शमूएल हुन् भनी शाऊलले भनी बुझे र तिनले घोप्‍टो परेर दण्डवत गरे र आदर प्रकट गरे ।

Samuel said to Saul , " Why have you disturbed me and brought me up ? " Saul answered , " I am very distressed , for the Philistines are waging war against me , and God has left me and does not answer me any more , neither by prophets , nor by dreams . Therefore I have called you , that you may make known to me what I will do . "
शमूएलले शाऊललाई भने , “ तिमीले किन मेरो शान्ति भङ्ग गर्‍यौ र मलाई माथि ल्यायौ ? " शाऊलले जवाफ दिए , " म अति नै व्याकुल छु , किनभने पलिश्‍तीहरूले मेरो विरुद्ध युद्ध गरिरहेका छन् , र परमेश्‍वरले मलाई छोड्नुभएको छ र मलाई न अगमवक्ताहरूद्वारा न त सपनाहरूद्वारा नै जवाफ दिनुहुन्छ । यसकारण मैले तपाईंलाई बोलाएको हुँ , ताकि मैले के गर्नुपर्ने हो सो तपाईंले मलाई प्रकट गर्नुहोस् । "

Samuel said , " What then do you ask me , since Yahweh has left you , and he has become your enemy ?
शमूएलले भने , " तब परमप्रभुले तिमीलाई छोड्नुभएको र उहाँ नै तिम्रो शत्रु हुनुभएको हुनाले तिमीले मलाई के सोध्छौ ?

Yahweh has done to you what he said he would . Yahweh has torn the kingdom out of your hand and he has given it to someone else — to David .
परमप्रभुले जे गर्छु भन्‍नुभएको छ सो उहाँले गर्नुभएको छ । परमप्रभुले राज्यलाई तिम्रो हातबाट खोस्‍नुभएको छ र उहाँले अरू कसैलाई अर्थात् दाऊदलाई दिनुभएको छ ।

Because you did not obey the voice of Yahweh and did not carry out his fierce wrath on Amalek , he has therefore done this today to you .
किनभने तिमीले परमप्रभुको आवाज पालन गरेनौ र अमालेकमाथि उहाँको भयङ्कर क्रोध पुरा गरेनौ , यसकारण उहाँले तिमीलाई आज यसो गर्नुभएको छ ।

Yahweh will give Israel along with you into the hand of the Philistines , and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me . Yahweh will also give the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines . "
परमप्रभुले तिमीसँगै इस्राएललाई पलिश्‍तीहरूको हातमा सुम्‍पनुहुनेछ , र भोलि तिमी र तिम्रो छोराहरू मसँग हुनेछौ । परमप्रभुले इस्राएको फौजलाई पनि पलिश्‍तीहरूको हातमा दिनुहुनेछ । "

Then Saul immediately fell his full⟡ length on the ground and was very afraid because of the words of Samuel . There was no strength in him , for he had eaten no food all that day , neither that whole night .
तब शाऊल तुरुन्तै भूइँमा लम्पसार परेर लमतन्‍न परे र शमूएलको कुराले अति नै डराए । तिनमा कुनै बल नै थिएन , किनकि तिनले त्यो दिनभरि र रातमा पनि कुनै खाने कुरा खाएका थिएनन् ।

The woman came to Saul and saw that he was very troubled , She said to him , " See , your woman servant has listened to your voice ; I have put my life in my hand and have listened to the words that you said to me .
ती स्‍त्री शाऊलकहाँ आइन् र तिनी साह्रै ठुलो कष्‍टमा परेको देखिन् , उनलले तिनलाई भनिन् , " हेर्नुहोस् , तपाईंकी दासीले तपाईंको कुरा सुनेकी छिन् । मेरो जीवनलाई मैले जोखिममा पारेको छु र तपाईंले भन्‍नुभएको कुरा पालन गरेकी छु ।

Now therefore , I beg you , listen also to the voice of your woman servant , and let me set a little food in front of you . Eat so that you may gain strength for when you go on your way . "
यसकारण अब म तपाईंलाई बिन्ती गर्छु , तपाईंकी दासीको कुरा सुन्‍नुहोस् र तपाईंलाई थोरै खाने कुरा दिन अनुमति दिनुहोस् । खानुहोस् ताकि तपाईं बाटो जानुहुँदा तपाईंलाई शक्ति मिलोस् । "

But Saul refused and said , " I will not eat . " But his servants , together with the woman , compelled him , and he listened to their voice . So he rose from the ground and sat on the bed .
तर शाऊलले इन्कार गरे र भने , " मैले खाने छैन । " तर ती स्‍त्रीसहित तिनका सेवकहरूले तिनलाई बाध्य बनाए र तिनले तिनीहरूको कुरा माने । त्यसैले तिनी भूइँबाट उठे र ओछ्यानमा बसे ।

The woman had a fatted calf in the house ; she hurried and killed it ; she took flour , kneaded it , and baked unleavened bread with it .
ती स्‍त्रीको घरमा पालेको एउटा बाछो थियो । उनले त्यसलाई हतार काटिन् । उनले पिठो लिइन् र मुछिन् अनि यसको अखमिरी रोटी पकाइन् ।

She brought it before Saul and his servants , and they ate . Then they got up and left that night .
उनले यो शाऊल र तिनका सेवकहरूकहाँ ल्याइन् र तिनीहरूले खाए । त्यसपछि तिनीहरू उठे र त्‍यही रातमा निस्‍किए ।
