त्यहाँबाट दाऊद माथि गए र एन - गदीका किल्लाहरूमा बसे ।

When Saul returned from chasing the Philistines , he was told , " David is in the wilderness of Engedi . "

Then Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel and went to seek David and his men on the Rocks of the Wild Goats .

He came to sheep pens on the way , where there was a cave . Saul went inside to cover his feet⟡ . Now David and his men were sitting far back in the cave .
तिनी बाटोमा भेडा - गोठहरूमा आए जहाँ एउटा गुफा थियो । शाऊल दिसा गर्न भित्र गए । दाऊद र तिनका मानिसहरू गुफाको पल्लो कुनामा बसिरहेका थिए ।

David 's men said to him , " This is the day of which Yahweh spoke when he said to you , ' I will give your enemy into your hand , for you to do with him as you wish . ' " Then David arose and quietly crept forward and cut off the corner of Saul 's robe .
दाऊदका मानिसहरूले तिनलाई भने , " तैंले जे चाहन्छस् सो गर्न , म तेरो शत्रुलाई तेरो हातमा सुम्‍पने छु ' भनी परमप्रभुले तपाईंलाई भन्‍नुभएको दिन यही हो । " अनि दऊद उठे र बिस्तारै अगि बढे र शाऊलको वस्‍त्रको छेउ काटे ।

Afterward David 's heart afflicted him because he had cut a corner off Saul 's robe .
पछि दाऊदको हृदयमा कष्‍ट भयो किनभने तिनले शाऊलको वस्‍त्रको छेउ काटेका थिए ।

He said to his men , " May Yahweh forbid that I should do this⟡ thing to my master , Yahweh 's anointed , to put out my hand against him , seeing he is Yahweh 's anointed . "
तिनले आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई भने , " परमप्रभुका अभिषिक्‍त जन , उहाँ परमप्रभुका अभिषिक्‍त जन भनी देखेर पनि उहाँको विरुद्धमा मैले हात उठाउने कुरालाई परमप्रभुले नै रोक्‍नुभएको होस् । ”

So David rebuked his men with these words , and did not permit them to attack Saul . Saul stood up , left the cave , and went on his way .
त्यसैले दाऊदले आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई यी कुराहरू भनेर हप्‍काए र शाऊललाई आक्रमण गर्न तिनीहरूलाई अनुमति दिएनन् । शाऊल उठे , गुफाबाट बाहिर निस्के र आफ्नो बाटो लागे ।

Afterward , David also stood up , left the cave , and called out after Saul : " My master the king . " When Saul looked behind him , David bowed with his face to the ground and showed him respect .
पछि दाऊद पनि उठे , गुफा बाहिर गए र शाऊललाई कराएर भनेः " हे मेरो मालिक महाराजा । " जब शाऊलले पछाडी फर्केर हेरे , दाऊद भुइँमा घोप्टो परे र उनलाई आदर गरे ।

David said to Saul , " Why do you listen to the men who say , ' See , David is seeking your harm ? '
दाऊदले शाऊललाई भने , " ' हेर्नुहोस् , दाऊदले तपाइंको हानि गर्न खोज्दैछ ' भन्‍ने मानिसहरूको कुरा तपाईंले किन सुन्‍नुहुन्छ ?

Today your eyes have seen how Yahweh put you into my hand when we were in the cave . Some told me to kill you , but I spared you . I said , ' I will not put out my hand against my master ; for he is Yahweh 's anointed . '
तपाईं गुफामा हुनुहुँदा परमप्रभुले तपाईंलाई मेरो हातमा सुम्पनुभएको कुरा आज तपाईंले आफ्नै आँखाले देख्‍नुभएको छ । तपाईंलाई मार्न कसैले मलाई भने , तर मैले तपाईंलाई बचाएँ । मैले भने , ' म मेरो मालिकको विरुद्धमा हात उठाउँदिनँ । किनकि उहाँ परमप्रभुको अभिषिक्‍त जन हुनुहुन्छ । '

See , my father , see the corner of your robe in my hand . For the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you , you may know⟡ and see that there is no evil or treason in my hand , and I have not sinned against you , even though you hunt my life to take it .
हेर्नुहोस् हे मेरा पिता , तपाईंको वस्‍त्रको छेउ मेरो हातमा हेर्नुहोस् । तपाईंको वस्‍त्रको छेउ मैले काटेको र मैले तपाईंलाई नमारेको कुराले , मेरो हातमा कुनै खराबी वा देशद्रोह छैन , र मैले तपाईंको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेको छैन , तापनि तपाईंले मेरो ज्यान लिन खोज्‍नुहुन्छ ।

May Yahweh judge between you and me , and may Yahweh avenge me against you , but my hand shall not be against you .
तपाईं र मेरो बिचमा परमप्रभुले नै न्याय गर्नुभएको होस् र तपाईंको विरुद्धमा म भए परमप्रभुले नै बद्‍ला लिनुभएको होस् , तर मेरो हात तपाईंको विरुद्ध हुनेछैन ।

May Yahweh be judge and give judgment between you and me , and see to it , and plead my cause and permit me to escape from your hand . "
परमप्रभु नै न्यायकर्ता हुनुभएको होस् र तपाईं र मेरो बिचमा फैसला गर्नुभएको होस् , र यो हेर्नुभएको होस् , मेरो पक्षमा वहस गर्नुभएको होस् र तपाईंको हातबाट उम्कन मलाई अनुमति दिनुभएको होस् ।

When David had finished speaking these words to Saul , Saul said , " Is this your voice , my son David ? " Saul lifted up his voice and wept .
जब दाऊदले यी कुराहरू शाऊललाई भनिसकेका थिए , तब शाऊलले भने , " मेरो छोरा दाऊद , के यो तिम्रो सोर हो ? " शाऊलले डाँको छोडेर रोए ।

He said to David , " You are more righteous than I am . For you have repaid me good , where I have repaid you evil .
तिनले दाऊदलाई भने , " मभन्दा तिमी धेरै धर्मी रहेछौ । किनकि तिमीले मलाई असल कुराले बदला लिएका छौ भने , मैले तिमीलाई खराब कुराले बदला लिएको छु ।

You have declared today how you have done good to me , for you did not kill me when Yahweh had put me at your mercy .
तिमीले मप्रति कति असल गरेका छौ भनी तिमीले आज घोषणा गरेका छौ , किनकि परमप्रभुले मलाई तिम्रो कृपामा छोड्नुहुँदा पनि तिमीले मलाई मारेनौ ।

किनकि कुनै मानिसले आफ्नो शत्रुलाई भेट्टायो भने , के त्‍यसलाई उसले सुरक्षित साथ जान दिनेछ र ? तिमीले आज मेरो निम्ति जे गरेका छौ त्यसको निम्ति परमप्रभुले तिमीलाई असल इनाम दिनुभएको होस् ।

Now , I know that you will surely be king and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hand .
अब मलाई थाहा भयो कि तिमी साँच्‍चै नै राजा हुनेछौ र इस्राएलको राज्य तिम्रै हातमा स्थापित हुनेछ ।
