It came about , when Rehoboam 's reign was established and he was strong , that he abandoned the law of Yahweh — and all Israel with him .
यस्‍तो भयो , जब रहबामको राज्‍य स्थापित भयो र तिनी शक्तिशाली भए , तब तिनले परमप्रभुको व्‍यवस्‍था त्‍यागे — र तिनीसँगै जम्मै इस्राएलले पनि त्यागे ।

It happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam , that Shishak , king of Egypt , came up against Jerusalem , because the people had been unfaithful to Yahweh .
रहबाम राजाको शासनकालको पाँचौं वर्षमा मिश्रदेशका राजा शीशक यरूशलेमको विरुद्ध आए , किनभने मानिसहरू परमप्रभुप्रति अविश्‍वासी भएका थिए ।

He came⟡ with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen . Soldiers without number came with him from Egypt : Libyans , Sukkites , and Cushites .
तिनी बाह्र सय रथ र साठी हजार घोडचढी लिएर आए । तिनीसँग मिश्रदेशबाट आएका असंख्‍य फौज हरूः लिबियाली , सुक्‍किया र कूशीहरू आए ।

तिनले यहूदाका किल्‍लाबन्‍दी गरिएका सहरहरू जिते र यरूशलेममा आइपुगे ।

Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and to the leaders of Judah who had gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak . Shemaiah said to them , " This⟡ is what Yahweh says : You have forsaken me , so I have also given you over into Shishak 's hand . "
शीशकको कारणले यरूशलेममा भेला भएका रहबाम र यहूदाका अगुवाहरू भएको ठाउँमा शमयाह अगमवक्ता आए । शमायाहले तिनीहरूलाई भने , “ परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्‍छ : ‘ तिमीहरूले मलाई त्‍यागेका छौ , यसैले मैले पनि तिमीहरूलाई शीशकको हातमा सुम्‍पिदिएको छु ’ । ”

Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said , " Yahweh is righteous . "
तब इस्राएलका शासकहरू र राजाले आफूलाई विनम्र बनाए र भने , “ परमप्रभु धर्मी हुनुहुन्‍छ । ”

When Yahweh saw that they had humbled themselves , the word of Yahweh came⟡ to Shemaiah , saying , " They have humbled themselves . I will not ruin them ; I will rescue them to some extent , and my anger will not pour out on Jerusalem by means of Shishak 's hand .
जब तिनीहरूले आफूलाई विनम्र तुल्‍याएका छन् भनी जब परमप्रभुले देख्‍नुभयो , तब परमप्रभुको वचन शमायाहकहाँ यसो भनेर आयो , “ तिनीहरूले आफूलाई विनम्र तुल्‍याएका छन् । म तिनीहरूलाई विनाश गर्नेछैनँ । म तिनीहरूलाई केही हदसम्म उद्धार गर्नेछु , र शीशकको हातद्वारा यरूशलेममा म आफ्‍नो क्रोध खन्‍याउनेछैनँ ।

Nevertheless , they will be his servants , so that they may understand what it is to serve me and to serve the rulers of the other countries . "
तापनि तिनीहरू त्‍यसका सेवकहरू हुनेछन् ताकि मेरो सेवा गर्नु र अरू देशका शासकहरूका सेवा गर्नमा के भिन्‍नता रहेछ सो तिनीहरूले थाहा पाउनेछन् । ”

So Shishak , king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem and took away the treasures in the house of Yahweh , and the treasures in the king 's house . He took everything away ; he also took the shields of gold that Solomon had made .
यसैले मिश्रदेशका राजा शीशक यरूशलेमको विरुद्ध आए र परमप्रभुको मन्‍दिर कोषहरू र राजाको महलका भण्‍डारका धन - सम्पत्ति लुटेर लगे । तिनले हरेक कुरा लगे । सोलोमनले बनाएका सुनका ढालहरू पनि तिनले लगे ।

It happened that whenever the king entered the house of Yahweh , the guards would carry them ; then they would bring them back into the guardhouse .
जब राजा परमप्रभुको मन्‍दिरभित्र पस्‍थे , तब रक्षकहरू ती बोक्थे । अनि तिनीहरूले रक्षक बस्‍ने कोठामा फेरि ती फर्काउँथे ।

When Rehoboam humbled himself , Yahweh 's anger turned away from him , so as not to destroy him completely ; besides , there was still some good to be found⟡ in Judah .
जब रहबामले आफूलाई विनम्र तुल्‍याए , तब तिनलाइ पुरै नष्‍ट नगर्नलाई परमप्रभुको क्रोध तिनीबाट हट्यो । यसका अतिरिक्त , यहूदामा केही असल कुरा अझै बाँकी थियो ।

So King Rehoboam made his kingship strong in Jerusalem , and thus⟡ he reigned . Rehoboam was forty - one years old when he began to reign , and he reigned for seventeen years in Jerusalem , the city that Yahweh had chosen from all the tribes of Israel so that he might put his name there . His mother 's name was Naamah the Ammonite woman .
यसरी रहबाम राजाले यरूशलेममा आफ्नो राजकाज बलियो बनाए , र यसरी तिनले राज्य गरे । रहबामले राज्य गर्न सुरु गर्दा तिनी एकचालीस वर्षका थिए , र परमप्रभुले इस्राएलका सारा कुलबाट आफ्‍नो नाउँ राख्‍नका निम्‍ति चुन्‍नुभएको सहर यरूशलेममा तिनले सत्र वर्ष राज्‍य गरे । तिनकी आमाको नाउँ अम्‍मोनी स्‍त्री नामा थियो ।

रहबामको राजकालका घटनाहरू सुरुदेखि अन्‍त्‍यसम्‍म शमायाह अगमवक्ता र दर्शी इद्दोका इतिहासका पुस्‍तकहरूमा समेत लेखिएका छैनन् र , जसमा वंशक्रमहरू र रहबाम र यारोबामका बीचमा निरन्‍तर भएको युद्धका अभिलेख पनि राखिएको छन् ?

Rehoboam slept with his ancestors and was buried in the city of David ; Abijah his son became king in his place .
रहबाम आफ्‍ना पुर्खाहरूसित सुते , र दाऊदको सहरमा गाडिए । तिनका छोरा अबिया तिनका ठाउँमा राजा भए ।
