Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of Yahweh his God ,
आसाले परमप्रभु आफ्‍ना परमेश्‍वरको दृष्‍टिमा जे कुरा असल र ठिक थियो त्‍यही गरे ,

for he took away the foreign altars and the high places . He broke down the stone pillars and cut down the Asherah poles .
किनकि तिनले विदेशी वेदीहरू र डाँडाका थानहरू हटाए । तिनले ढुङ्गाका खम्‍बाहरू भत्‍काइदिए , र अशेरा देवीका खम्‍बाहरूलाई ढालिदिए ।

He commanded Judah to seek Yahweh , the God of their ancestors , and to carry out the law and the commandments .
तिनले यहूदालाई परमप्रभु आफ्‍ना पुर्खाहरूका परमेश्‍वरको खोजी गर्ने , र व्‍यवस्‍था र आज्ञाहरू पालन गर्ने हुकुम गरे ।

साथै तिनले यहूदाका सबै सहरहरूमा भएका अल्‍गा थानहरू र धूप बाल्‍ने वेदीहरू पनि हटाइदिए । तिनको अधीनमा देशले शान्‍ति पायो ।

He built fortified cities in Judah , for the land was quiet , and he had no war in those years , because Yahweh had given him peace .
तिनले यहूदामा किल्‍ला भएका सहरहरू निर्माण गरे , किनकि देशमा शान्‍ति थियो , र ती वर्षहरूमा तिनले युद्ध गर्नुपरेन , किनभने परमप्रभुले तिनलाई शान्ति दिनुभएको थियो ।

For Asa said to Judah , " Let us build⟡ these cities and make walls around them , and towers , gates , and bars ; the land is still ours because we have sought Yahweh our God . We have sought him , and he has given us peace on every side . " So they built and succeeded .
किनकि आसाले यहूदालाई भने , “ हामी यी सहरको निर्माण गरौं र तिनका चारैतिर पर्खाल , धरहरा , ढोका र बारहरू बनाऔँ । यो देश अझ हाम्रै हो , किनभने हामीले परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्‍वरको खोजी गरेका छौं । हामीले उहाँलाई खोज्‍यौं , र हरेकतिरबाट उहाँले हामीलाई शन्‍ति दिनुभएको छ । ” यसैले तिनीहरूले निर्माण गरे र सफल भए ।

Asa had an army that carried shields and spears ; from Judah he had 300,000 men , and from Benjamin , 280,000 men who carried shields and drew⟡ bows . All of these were mighty men .
आसाका ढाल र भालाहरू बोक्‍ने फौज थियो । यहूदाबाट तीन लाख मानिस र बेन्‍यामीनबाट दुई लाख असी हजार मानिस जसले ढाल बोक्‍ने र धनुर्धारीहरू थिए । ती सबै शक्तिशाली योद्धा थिए ।

Zerah the Cushite came⟡ against them with an army of one million soldiers and three hundred chariots ; he came to Mareshah .
कूशी जेरह तिनीहरूका विरुद्धमा दस लाख फौज र तीन सय रथ लिएर आए । तिनी मारेशामा आइपुगे ।

Then Asa went out to meet him , and they set the battle lines in order in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah .
तब आसा उनको सामना गर्न निस्‍केर आए , र मारेशानेरको सपताको बेसीमा तिनीहरूले एक - अर्कामा युद्ध गरे ।

Asa cried to Yahweh , his God , and said , " Yahweh , there is no one but you to help one who has no strength when he is facing many . Help us , Yahweh our God , for we rely on you , and in your name we have come against this vast number . Yahweh , you are our God ; do not let man defeat you . "
आसाले परमप्रभु आफ्‍ना परमेश्‍वरसित पुकारा गरे र भने , “ हे परमप्रभु , धेरै जनाको सामना गर्नुपर्दा जससँग बल छैन त्‍यसलाई सहायता गर्ने तपाईंबाहेक अरू कोही पनि छैन । हे परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्‍वर , हामीलाई सहायता गर्नुहोस् , किनकि हामी तपाईंमा भर पर्छौं , र तपाईंकै नाउँमा यस ठूलो फौज को विरुद्धमा सामना गर्न हामी आएका छौं । हे परमप्रभु , तपाईं हाम्रा परमेश्‍वर हुनुहुन्‍छ । मानिसले तपाईंलाई पराजित गर्न नदिनुहोस् । ”

So Yahweh struck the Cushites before Asa and Judah ; the Cushites fled .
यसैले परमप्रभुले आसा र यहूदाको सामु कूशीहरूलाई प्रहार गर्नुभयो । कूशीहरू भागे ।

Asa and the soldiers with him pursued them to Gerar . So many Cushites fell that they could not recover , for they were completely destroyed before Yahweh and his army . The army carried away very much plunder .
आसा र तिनीसित भएका फौजले उनीहरूलाई गरारसम्‍म खेदे । यति धेरै कूशीहरू ढले कि तिनीहरू फेरि खडा हुन सकेनन् , किनकि तिनीहरू परमप्रभु र उहाँका फौजका सामु पूर्ण रूपले नष्‍ट भए । फौजले धेरै मात्रामा लूटका समान लिएर आए ।

The army destroyed all the villages around Gerar , for terror of Yahweh had come on the inhabitants . The army plundered all the villages , and there was much booty in them .
फौजले गरारका चारैतिरका सबै बस्तीलाई नाश गरे , किनकि त्‍यहाँका बासिन्दाहरूमा परमप्रभुको त्रास परेको थियो । फौजले सबै बस्‍तीमा लूट मच्‍चाए र तिनीहरूसित धेरै लूटका माल भए ।

The army also destroyed the tent settlements of the shepherding nomads ; they carried away sheep in abundance , as well as camels , and then they returned to Jerusalem .
फौजले धेरै फिरन्ते गोठालाहरूका पालका बस्‍तीहरूसमेत नाश गरे । तिनीहरूले प्रशस्त मात्रामा भेडा र ऊँटहरू लिएर आए , र त्यसपछि तिनीहरू यरूशलेममा फर्के ।
