Now Dinah , Leah 's daughter whom she bore to Jacob , went out to meet the young women⟡ of the land .
अब लेआले याकूबको निम्ति जन्माएकी छोरी दीना त्यस देशका युवतीहरूसित भेट गर्न गइन् ।

शकेमका पिता हमोर याकूबसित कुराकानी गर्न गए ।

याकूबका छोराहरू खेतबाट फर्कंदा तिनीहरूले यस विषयबारे सुने । तिनीहरूलाई चोट पुगेको थियो । याकूबकी छोरीमाथि जबरजस्ती सहवास गरेर तिनले इस्राएलको बेइज्‍जत गरेकाले तिनीहरू ज्यादै रिसाए । किनकि यस्तो कुरो गरिनुहुँदैनथ्यो ।

Hamor spoke with them , saying , " My son Shechem loves your daughter . Please give her to him as a wife .
हमोरले तिनीहरूलाई भने , " मेरो छोरो शकेमले तपाईंकी छोरी दीनालाई माया गर्छन् । कृपया , उनलाई तिनकी पत्‍नी हुन दिनुहोस् ।

Intermarry with us , give your daughters to us , and take our daughters for yourselves .

Shechem said to her father and to her brothers , " Let me find⟡ favor in your eyes , and whatever you tell me I will give .
शकेमले उनका पिता र उनका दाजुहरूलाई भने , " मलाई तपाईंहरूले निगाह गर्नुहोस् , र तपाईंहरूले मलाई जे भन्‍नुहुन्छ , म त्यही दिनेछु ।

Ask me for as great a bride price and gift as you will , and I will give whatever you say to me , but give me the young woman as a wife . "
तपाईंहरूलाई इच्छा लागेमुताबिक जतिसुकै दाइजो र उपहार माग्‍नुुहोस् म ती दिनेछु , तर मलाई यी युवती पत्‍नी तुल्याउनलाई दिनुहोस् । "

The sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father with deceit , because Shechem had defiled Dinah their sister .
शकेमले दीनालाई अशुद्ध तुल्याएकाले याकूबका छोराहरूले शकेम र तिनका पिता हमोरलाई छलपूर्वक जवाफ दिए ।

They said to them , " We can not do this thing , to give our sister to anyone who is uncircumcised ; for that would be a disgrace to us .
तिनीहरूले उनीहरूलाई भने , " हामी यस्तो कुरा गर्न सक्दैनौँ । खतना नगरेको कुनै पनि व्यक्तिलाई हामी हाम्री बहिनी दिन सक्दैनौँ । किनकि त्यसो गर्दा हाम्रो बेइज्‍जत हुन्छ ।

Then will we give our daughters to you , and we will take your daughters to ourselves , and we will live⟡ with you and become one people .
तब हामी हाम्रा छोरीहरू तपाईंहरूलाई दिनेछौँ र तपाईंहरूका छोरीहरू हामी लिनेछौँ अनि हामी तपाईंहरूसित बसी एउटै जाति हुनेछौँ ।

हमोर र तिनका छोरा शकेम तिनीहरूको सहरको द्वारमा गएर सहरका मानिसहरूलाई भने ,

" These men are at peace with us , so let them live in the land and trade in it for , really , the land is large enough for them . Let us take their daughters as wives , and let us give them our daughters .
" यी मानिसहरू शान्तिप्रिय छन् । त्यसैले यिनीहरू हामीसितै बसोबास गरी व्यापार गरून् किनकि वास्तवमा हाम्रो देश तिनीहरूका लागि पनि ज्यादै ठुलो छ । तिनीहरूका छोरीहरूलाई पत्‍नी बनाउनलाई लिऔँ र तिनीहरूलाई हाम्रा छोरीहरू दिऔँ ।

Only on this condition will the men agree to live⟡ with us and become one people : If every male among us is circumcised , as they are circumcised .

सहरका सबै मानिसले हमोर र तिनका छोरा शकेमको कुरा माने , अनि हरेक पुरुषको खतना गरियो ।

On the third day , when they were still in pain , two of the sons of Jacob ( Simeon and Levi , Dinah 's brothers ) , each took his sword and they attacked the city that was certain of its security , and they killed all the males .
तेस्रो दिनमा तिनीहरू अझै दर्दमा हुँदा याकूबका दुई जना छोरा शिमियोन र लेवी ( दीनाका दाजुहरू ) ले आ-आफ्नो तरवार लिई आफ्नो सुरक्षामा ढुक्‍क रहेको सहरमाथि आक्रमण गरी सबै पुरुषलाई मारे ।

They killed Hamor and his son Shechem with the edge of the sword . They took Dinah from Shechem 's house and went away .
तिनीहरूले तरवारले हमोर र तिनका छोरा शकेमलाई मारे । तिनीहरूले दीनालाई शकेमको घरबाट लिएर गए ।

The other sons of Jacob came⟡ to the dead⟡ bodies and looted the city , because the people had defiled their sister .

Jacob said to Simeon and Levi , " You have brought trouble on me , to make me stink to the inhabitants of the land , the Canaanites and the Perizzites . I am few in number . If they gather themselves together against me and attack me , then I will be destroyed , I and my household . "
याकूबले शिमियोन र लेवीलाई भने , " यस देशका बासिन्दाहरू अर्थात् कनानीहरू र परिज्‍जीहरूका सामु मलाई अप्रिय तुल्याएर तिमीहरूले ममाथि सङ्कष्‍ट ल्याएका छौ । मेरा मानिसहरू थोरै छन् तिनीहरू एकै ठाउँमा जम्मा भई ममाथि आक्रमण गरे भने म र मेरो घराना नष्‍ट हुनेछौँ ।
