दमस्कसको बारेमा एउटा घोषणा ।

The cities of Aroer will be abandoned . They will be places for flocks to lie down , and no one will frighten them .
अरोएरका सहरहरूलाई त्यागिनेछ । तिनीहरू बथानहरू बस्‍ने ठाउँहरू हुनेछन् र तिनीहरूलाई कसैले पनि तर्साउनेछैन ।

Fortified cities will disappear from Ephraim , the kingdom from Damascus , and the remnant of Aram — they will be like the glory of the people of Israel — this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts .
किल्लाबन्‍दी गरिएका सहरहरू एफ्राइमबाट , दमस्कसको राज्यबाट लोप हुनेछन् , र अरामका बाँकी रहेकाहरू — तिनीहरू इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको गौरवझैं हुनेछन् — यो सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।

यो अन्‍न जम्‍मा गर्नेले अन्‍न थुपारेजस्तो हुनेछ , र त्यसका हातहरूले अन्‍न कटानी गर्छ । यो रपाईको बेसीमा शिला - बाला बटुलेजस्‍तो हुनेछ ।

जैतूनको रुखलाई हल्लाए जसरी पनि शिलाहरू छोडिनेछन् : माथिल्‍लो हाँगामा दुइ - तिन वटा वा फलको सबभन्‍दा अग्लो हाँगाहरूमा चार - पाँच वटा जैतून छोडिन्‍छन् — यो परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्‍वरको घोषणा हो ।

On that day men will look toward their Maker , and their eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel .
त्यस दिन मानिसहरूले आफ्‍ना सृष्‍टिकर्तालाई हेर्नेछन् र तिनीहरूका आँखाले इस्राएलका पवित्रलाई हेर्नेछन् ।

तिनीहरूले आफ्नो हातका कामहरू अर्थात् वेदीहरूतिर हेर्नेछैनन् , न त तिनीहरूले आफ्नै औंलाले बनाएका अशेराका खम्बाहरू न सूर्यका प्रतिमाहरूलाई नै हेर्नेछन् ।

On that day their strong cities will be like the abandoned wooded slopes on the hill summits , that were forsaken because of the people of Israel and that will become a desolation .
त्यस दिन तिनीहरूका बलिया सहरहरू डाँडाका टाकुराहरूका भिरहरूमा त्यगिएका जङ्‍गलजस्‍तै हुनेछन् , जसलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूका कारणले त्यागिएका थिए र त्यो उजाड हुनेछ ।

For you have forgotten the God of your salvation , and have ignored the rock of your strength . So you plant pleasant plants , and set out vine branches received from a stranger ,
किनकि तैंले आफ्‍नो मुक्‍तिको परमेश्‍वरलाई बिर्सेको छस् र तेरो सामर्थ्यको चट्टानलाई बेवास्ता गरेको छस् । त्‍यसैले तैंले सुन्दर बिरुवाहरू रोपिस् र विदेशीबाट पाएको दाखका हाँगाहरू रोपिस् ,

on the day you plant and hedge and cultivate . Soon your seed will grow , but the harvest will fail⟡ on a day of grief and of desperate sorrow .
तैंले रोपेको , बार लगाएको र खेती गरेको दिनमा । तेरा बीउहरू चाँडै वृद्धि हुनेछन् , तर कष्‍ट र घोर दुखको दिनमा फल दिनेछैन ।

Woe ! The uproar of many peoples , that roar like the roaring of the seas , and the rushing of nations , that rush like the rushing of mighty waters !
धिक्‍कार ! धेरै मानिसहरूको गर्जन , जुन समुद्रहरूको गर्जन , र जातिहरूका हल्लाझैं गर्जन्छ , जुन शक्तिशाली पानी बगेझैं बग्छ !

The nations will roar like the rushing of many waters , but he will rebuke them and they will flee far away , they will be chased before the wind like chaff on the mountains , and like weeds whirling before a storm .
जातिहरू धेरै पानी बगेझैं गर्जन्‍छन् , तर उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई हप्‍काउनुहुनेछ र तिनीहरू टाढा भाग्‍नेछन् , डाँडाहरूमाथि भुसझैं तिनीहरू हावाको सामु उड्‍नेछन् र आँधीको सामु मडारिएको झारझैं हुनेछन् ।

In the evening , see , terror ! Before the morning they will be gone ! This⟡ is the portion of those who loot us , the lot of those who rob us .
हेर , साँझमा त्रास ! बिहान हुनअगि ती बितिजानेछन् ! हामीलाई लूट्नेहरू , हामीलाई डकैती गर्नेहरूको भाग यस्‍तै हुनेछ ।
